RESET
Operation
Perform warm reset; preserve BOOTPC and BOOTCFG.
Assembler Syntax
RESET
Privilege
Supervisor only
RESET serializes earlier memory effects, applies the complete architectural warm-reset state to the executing logical processor, and resumes execution at BOOTPC.
RESET is supervisor-only and affects only the executing logical processor. Before the reset-state transition commits, all earlier memory effects and pending write-combining stores from that logical processor complete. No younger instruction effect becomes visible.
The complete register, hidden-state, and cache effects of the transition are defined under Event Reset and Context State. Instruction-fetch synchronization completes before the first instruction at BOOTPC is fetched.
