VINSERT

Operation

Replaces one indexed vector lane with an integer scalar value.

Assembler Syntax

VINSERT.{B|W|L|Q}(z) Rn(r), Rn(s), Vn(v)

Privilege

Unprivileged

Required CPUID flags

VECTOR

VINSERT interprets the scalar index as unsigned and replaces only that lane of Vd. The B, W, L, and Q forms use the corresponding low field of Rn. Every lane at another index retains its previous value.

An index at or above the selected vector element count raises VECTOR_LANE_INDEX_OUT_OF_RANGE. The faulting instruction commits no destination change.

The scalar value x replaces Vd lane i, and every other lane retains its old destination value.

VINSERT.W indexed lane replacement

2.75in
